New! Gladiator School Found

Ever wondered about some Roman history and where they have made their empires? Well, during their time period of taking over, the Romans governed over many parts of the world, one of these was Austria.A few weeks ago diggers/archaeologists/historians discovered a new building buried. To be specific, this building is said to be used as a gladiator school for Romans. This building was found close to the Danube and is similar to all the other Roman sculptures and buildings in a way. The odd fact about this building that makes it different from other ones, is its huge size. It covers a place of about 19,000 square meters, we estimate it was created around A.D.150 by a Roman Emperor called Marcus Aurelius.

While investigating around this project, many new objects where found such as wooden training dummies, cemeteries etc. Not only was the school there, but also a huge courtyard with a mini amphitheater with Roman bleachers and a campus most probably used for wild animals or training horses. Finding the Gladiator School was proceeded with a tractor mounted radar equipment which allowed the scientist find underground buildings. After all what the scientists and diggers themselves concluded was that this in fact is a Roman school because of the evidence they have, and it is the biggest known Gladiator school known for now.
I personally think it is an interesting discovery about a school uncovered in our century and to think it was used a long time ago it can be surprising. Just think, how did the people live in those days? Where they forced to be gladiators? Why didn't we find the school before?  All theses questions with no answers, but hopefully, once more research will be conducted on this subject we will understand more of the past.

This is the website I got the information from if you want to learn more:
